Vision 2022 Responds to Community Leadership Development Needs

Vision 2022 is excited to announce the formation of its newest initiative focused on Community Leadership Development. Since the inception of the Vision 2022 process in late 2017 and throughout the many discussions at the various work group meetings, a common opportunity was identified.

Specifically, it was expressed that proactive communities work collaboratively to create leadership paths that result in innovative and visionary leadership which results in increased vibrancy and sustainability for the future. The purpose of the team is to identify pathways for future leaders in Manitowoc County that go beyond the current model of individual organizations and groups offering leadership components that are singular in nature. The goal is to understand current offerings in our community and then define specific paths for leadership capacity that seek to bring together multiple entities to leverage learning and improve overall community success.

The team will focus on creation of leadership paths in the areas of non-profit, civic and business leadership. Asset mapping, including a comprehensive community survey, will take place to identify current leadership development opportunities from high school through career stage. Following the study an analysis will occur followed by pathway development, which would ultimately result in individuals obtaining a community certification or digital badge in a specified leadership path.

The team is currently composed of individuals from Vision 2022, The Chamber, University of Green Bay – Manitowoc campus, Lakeshore Technical College, Americollect, Human Resource experts, Herzog Advisory Group and Mustard Seed Advisors.
